Losses, Roadtrips, and Ramblings

A couple weeks ago, one of our coworkers, Chris, went back home. We were all sad to see him go, but he needed to go home because he had some problems on the home-front. We already miss him a lot. :(

Over the 4th weekend, we had and extended weekend because they didn't want us working during the fourth with all the drunkards out and about. Lyla, Emily and I decided to have a "girls' weekend." We had so much fun.

Our first stop was San Francisco. I met up with an old friend from high school, whom I haven't seen in so long!!! We saw the Golden Gate bridge, slept in Emily's car, rode on a trolley, frolicked on the beach and got a limo ride!

I didn't take my camera with me in the city, cause it was too bulky so Emily took all the pics. I forgot to bug her for the pics, so I don't have them yet. I will get them eventually though.

Lyla had a dream that my camera was a snake when we were sleeping in the back of the car, so it got "buried" in the back of the car not to be seen 'til the next day.

We tried to take one last look at the Golden Gate bridge before we headed north but it disappeared. No where to be seen.

Our next stop was redwoods. Granted they weren't the huge redwoods everyone wants to see but they WERE redwoods and beautiful none the less.

Next, we hit the coast. Walked a couple trails and then found a nice little campsite and raced against the sun to see it set somewhere cool.

On our way back we hit a little wine country. That was pretty fun. We stopped at a couple wineries and had a taste test. Then bought a bunch of wine. I also won a hat! My friends were standing around a container full of wine corks trying to figure out how many were there. I didn't even look at it really and said the first number that came to mind and I was only four corks off! They were a little bitter about that! :)

Those redwood pics are pretty cool-looking. Sounds like you had a lot of fun. :)
