So I'm Lazy!
It's been almost a year since I last updated my blog. Some of it's because I just haven't done a whole lot to blog about and most is 'cause I've just been very bad at keeping this thing up-to-date. In other words... a lazy bum.

I'm still working at the Vision Center. I like the optical bit, but I still really hate working for W*^*$%. Some of you might ask why I'm still in Rhinelander. The answer is I'm staying as a roomie with my bestest friend to help her finish college and get her teaching license. I'm kinda stuck in Rhinelander 'til she finishes. I'd get some field jobs during the summer, but I know that I'll have to return to Rhinelander afterwards. My last experience finding a job in Rhinelander that'll hire a field biologist and NOT think I job hop hasn't been great. I'd like to think of it as their loss, 'cause EVERY single one of my employers absolutely LOVED me and didn't want me to go. However, two months of unemployement, no money coming in, finding a job that's full time and pays something I can get by with wasn't there. It's still not there, but a full time job fell on my lap here and unfortunately, I know that finding a full time job that pays what I get paid there isn't gonna happen. :(
I've also been meaning to study for my GRE's, I've studied a little. Shall I say again...lazy bum?? I'm honestly at the point where I don't know where I want to go right now. I know where I'll be for a little while, but after that???
Okay, I have now vented.
Anyway, I should probably update. You have all seen the blog posts of Su's dog Maggie. Well, we had a visitor named Lexi for a couple or so months. Lexi is Su's neice-dog that came to stay with us while Su's neice was dealing with some health issues. Lexi is an AWESOME dog and she should be the poster-dog for pit bulls.
Lexi was such a good influence on Maggie, Su decided to get another dog after Lexi went back home.
Meet Molly.
Molly is a rescue dog from the U.P. She's three. She was definately abused from wherever she came from before, but we're working on that.
Molly has some anxiety problems when everyone is gone. Let's just say she killed the moose and left it's entrails in the kitchen.
Aren't Maggie and Molly cute??!!
We've gone on a couple or so camping trips during the summer. They were very fun, the girls LOVED camping and they were mostly behaved -minus Maggie pulling my leftover burger from the dashboard of my beast of a van and eating it while we were gone.
When August came around, I started trying to make it back up to Duluth to see my friends and volunteer at Hawk Ridge. EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAD TWO DAYS OFF, I EITHER DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH $$ TO DRIVE THERE OR SOMETHING HAPPENED AT WORK AND I WAS ASKED TO COME IN ON MY DAYS OFF! I made it up to Hawk Ridge once. I'm very bummed about that, but there really wasn't much I could do about it. Maybe I'll be able to get up there for some of the winter stuff that happens.
This kid is so lucky to be releasing a freeking Goshawk!!
We had an absolutely amazing bird come to visit us while we were there. I know most of you could give two hoots about how amazing this bird is, but keep in mind the master bander Dave Grossheush??..however we spell his name (we call him Grossy) who has banded probably thousands of birds was doing the happy dance.
This bird was at first glance thought to be a Black Backed Woodpecker, but NO!! The back isn't completely black. :)
